Three people died and six sustained serious injuries in a car-bike collision in Udham Singh Nagar’s Bajpur on Thursday. The officials said that six people in the car were going to the funeral of a family member when the accident occurred. The three deceased identified as Sumit Kumar (23), Rifakat (28) and Sharafat (50) were tripling in a bike when it collided with a car in the afternoon, as per the officials. They said that all three victims got fatal injuries and they were immediately rushed to hospital with the help of locals. Rifakat and Sharafat died while being taken to the hospital and Kumar died during the treatment. The six injured including two children and two women were also taken to a health centre after which the doctor referred two of them to higher centres. The circle officer of police Bhupendra Bhandari also reached the hospital and met the family of the deceased and injured. He said that the body of three deceased has been sent for post-mortem and the police are investigating the matter. He said that it is being reported so far that the victims who were tripling on a bike lost balance and collided with the car but the police are investigating it from all angles.
