Thunderstorm warning issued for isolated places today

The State meteorological centre has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/hail likely to occur at isolated places in the State on Monday. Apart from this the meteorological centre has forecast that light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at a few places in the mountainous districts and at isolated places in the plain districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness mainly clear to partly cloudy sky. Thunder cloud development is likely to occur in some areas with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 18 degrees Celsius respectively.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 32.8 degrees Celsius and 17.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35.1 degrees Celsius and 16.8 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 23.9 degrees Celsius and 9.3 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar, 19.9 degrees Celsius and 10.9 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. Light rain was reported from some places on Sunday with five millimetres in Nainital and three millimetres each in Purola and Jankichatti.
