Thunderstorms and rain likely in mountains today

Even as the maximum temperature remained higher than normal in various parts of the State on Tuesday, the weather is set to take a turn in the mountainous districts today. The State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning likely to occur at isolated places in Pithoragarh, Uttarkashi and Chamoli districts on Wednesday. Further, very light to light rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Pithoragarh, Uttarkashi, and Chamoli districts. Dry weather will prevail in remaining districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear to partly cloudy sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Tuesday were 31.3 degrees Celsius and 14.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 32.9 degrees Celsius and 14.1 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 23 degrees Celsius and 9.9 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 23.4 degrees Celsius and 9.4 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
