Thunderstorms & lightning likely in parts of Kumaon today

With the monsoon expected to retrieve from Uttarakhand in less than a week, the last few days of this season may see inclement weather in parts of the State. The State meteorological centre has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning likely to occur at isolated places in districts of Kumaon region on Wednesday. Apart from this light to moderate rain / thunderstorms are likely to occur at a few places in districts of Kumaon region and at isolated places in districts of Garhwal region today. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain/thundershower are likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Wednesday.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Tuesday were 32.6 degrees Celsius and 21.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 33.2 degrees Celsius and 23.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 21.6 degrees Celsius and 14.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25 degrees Celsius and 16.4 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
