Thunderstorms with intense spells likely in four districts today

Light to moderate rainfall was experienced in some parts of the State on Monday. The State meteorological centre has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun, Nainital, Champawat and Bageshwar districts of the State on Tuesday. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense/very intense spells are likely to occur at isolated places in the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at a few places in Haridwar, Uttarkashi and Udham Singh Nagar and at many places in the remaining districts of the State.

The provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to witness partly to generally cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain/ thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 34 degrees Celsius and 25 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Monday were 33.9 degrees Celsius and 24.7 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 34.5 degrees Celsius and 26.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 21.2 degrees Celsius and 16.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.2 degrees Celsius and 18.8 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. There was 54 millimetres rain in Sahastradhara area of Dehradun, 22 millimetres in Narendranagar, 17 millimetres in Ghat and 14 millimetres in Mukteshwar on Monday.
