Thunderstorms with lightning & hail warning issued for isolated places

With unseasonal rains continuing in various parts of north India, Uttarakhand is also forecast to experience yet another day of rain and snowfall. The State meteorological centre has forecast that light to moderate rain/ thunderstorm/ snowfall are very likely to occur at most places in the districts of the State today. Snowfall is likely to occur at places situated at altitudes of 3,000 metres and above. The meteorological centre has also issued a warning (alert) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/hail likely to occur at isolated places in the State’s districts on Monday.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience light to moderate rain/thunderstorm/hailstorm with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 24 degrees Celsius and 16 degrees Celsius respectively on Monday. Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 27.9 degrees Celsius and 13.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 27.2 degrees Celsius and 12 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 10.2 degrees Celsius and 5.3 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 16.2 degrees Celsius and 6.6 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri. Light to moderate rain was reported in various parts of the State with 55.5 millimetres being recorded in Yamkeshwar, 20.5 millimetres in Lohaghat, 20 millimetres in Shama, 15 millimetres in Dwarahat and 12 millimetres each in Pauri and Lansdowne on Sunday.
