Despite the lack of rain on Saturday in Dehradun, the maximum temperatures remained below normal in the provisional State capital and other places. Light to moderate rain was experienced in various parts of the State on Saturday. Meanwhile, the State meteorological centre has issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense/very intense spells likely to occur at isolated places in the State on Sunday. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are also likely to occur at a few places in Uttarkashi and Haridwar districts along with many places in the remaining districts of the State today.
According to the weather forecast, Dehradun is expected to witness partly to generally cloudy skies with rain/thundershowers likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 29.9 degrees Celsius and 22.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 32.6 degrees Celsius and 26 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 18.5 degrees Celsius and 15.6 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 20.4 degrees Celsius and 16.8 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. There was 42.5 millimetres rain in Bhimtal, 31.5 millimetres in Nainital, 21 millimetres in Lohaghat, 14.5 millimetres in Kotdwar, 11.5 millimetres in Devprayag and 10 millimetres in Jageshwar.
