A Forest department staff member on patrol was attacked by a tiger in the Jhirna range of Corbett national park on Wednesday. The other personnel on patrol made noise to shoo the tiger away and transported their injured colleague to a hospital in Ramnagar.
According to officials, contract worker Manak Chand was injured in the attack by the big cat on Wednesday morning. His condition is said to be out of danger. Even as the incident caused fear among the staff members, the department has stepped up patrolling to keep an eye on the tiger involved in the attack, said officials.
