In latest news from Uttarakhand, a bull was killed by a tiger in a remote village Bana in Nainital district. This incident sparked panic among the villagers as it confirms the presence of big cat on the prowl in this area. It is learnt that the owner of the bull Vijay Anthony took the animal out of the cowshed and kept it tethered in his field. When the bull was grazing in the field the tiger pounced on it. Consequently, the bull died. Vijay said that he is a poor man who earns his living through farming and as a wage earner. He further said that he could not afford to buy another bull.
The villagers, remaining on edge following the confirmation of a tiger in the area, demanded the forest department to do daily patrolling. On being informed on the incident, the forest department officials visited the village
