The 90 MW Tiloth Power station of the Maneri Bhali (I) hydroelectric project of UJVN Limited located in Uttarkashi district has generated a record 61.356 million units of electricity in the month of July 2024. Earlier, the maximum power production in the month of July of the plant was in July 2011 when 60.42 million units were generated.
The Tiloth plant on the River Bhagirathi was commissioned in 1984. The different projects of the UJVNL generated 616.944 million units of electricity in the month of July 2024, which is the highest electricity generation by the projects of the corporation in the month of July since the year 2015-16.
The UJVNL officials said that it is interesting to note that this achievement was accomplished even as the water flow in the Tons River was reduced by 80 percent and the water flow in the Yamuna River was reduced by 62 percent in July this year.
The Managing Director (MD) of UJVNL Sandeep Singhal said that the achievement is the result of efficient management , better maintenance, reduction in breakdown time and hard work of the employees.
