To ensure social distancing, MCD to conduct board meeting in Town Hall
Taking precautionary measures amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) will conduct its second and the last board meeting of this year in the Town Hall on Monday. Recently, an MCD employee was found positive for Covid-19 and the corporation restricted public entry in its premises for two days. According to the officials, the corporation was planning to conduct the board meeting this week but it was postponed due to the recent covid case in MCD.
However, the mayor Sunil Uniyal ‘Gama’ has stated that the corporation will conduct a board meeting on December 14 as there has been no board meeting since January due to Covid-19. According to him, the board will take various decisions in the meeting regarding the development projects of the city. Considering this, the officials informed that the meeting will be conducted in Town Hall to maintain proper physical distancing among 100 councillors and others during the meeting. According to them, every second seat will be marked empty in the hall to maintain proper social distance among the councillors and wearing of masks in the hall would be mandatory too.
