The administration has come out with a new token system to provide relief to the pilgrims who have to stand for hours under the scorching sun and during rains waiting for their turn to enter the temple at Kedarnath. The administration has introduced a token system to help the pilgrims so that they do not have to stand in long lines. With this arrangement, the pilgrims will be able to have darshan without standing in long line and can avail that period to enjoy the beauty around the shrine.
After being hampered due to the Covid-19 pandemic during the past two years the Char Dham Yatra has started in full swing this year and lakhs of devotees are reaching these shrines. More than 14 lakh people have visited the Char Dham shrines so far. Till now, devotees had to stand in line for about four hours for darshan at Kedarnath but now with the token arrangement, the people can use these hours to visit other places located near the temple.
Director general of police Ashok Kumar said that token arrangements have been introduced to facilitate darshan at Kedarnath. The pilgrims will not have to stand in long queues for darshan. The pilgrims will be given tokens for darshan and will have to wait a little bit in the temple premises and enter only when their turn comes. This will prevent lining up for a long period. DGP Ashok Kumar appealed to the people to enjoy this facility for their own convenience.
Meanwhile, more than 14 lakh people have visited the Char Dham shrines so far since May 3. According to official sources, 1,93,953 people have visited Yamunotri, 2,61,861 have visited Gangotri, 4,52,567 have visited Kedarnath and 4,87,532 have visited Badrinath.
