In latest news from Uttarakhand, an agreement was signed between Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) and Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES) aimed at connecting tourists visiting Nainital with astro tourism. The general manager KMVN Sandeep Tiwari and a senior scientist, ARIES Dipankar Banerjee signed the MoU.
Lauding the initiative, Tiwari said that tourists visiting Nainital would now be able to know the secrets hidden in space and universe, adding that KMVN would send a team of 25 people to ARIES every day. Banerjee said that while information about the universe were earlier given to local people, including school students at the institute, tourists were being included now.
