In latest news from Uttarakhand, a 20-year-old student identified as Tanuja Karki, resident of Khuriakhatta, was killed as a mud-laden tractor trolley rammed into the scooty she was riding in Bindukhatta near Lalkuan. She was riding towards the computer centre where she was receiving training when the accident happened. As she reached the Ambedkar Bhavan she fell off her scooty after a tractor hit it and one of its wheels then ran over her. She was rushed to Susheela Tiwari Hospital where she was declared brought dead. The Bindukhatta police post in-charge said that the tractor had been impounded.
The angry locals ascribed the accident to the rampant mining activities there and demanded the police to stop all such activities in the area.
