Traders meet mayor with grievances

PIONEER NEWS SERVICE/ Kotdwar
In latest news from Uttarakhand, the members of the Kotdwar Nagar Udyog Vypar Mandal served a memorandum to the mayor Sailendra Singh Rawat and urged him to ensure that their interests are protected. They said that they had been subjected to eviction in the name of anti-encroachment drives in the past. They also said that excessive taxes had been levied on them. Plus, they expressed their apprehension that their business interests were under grave threat with malls coming up in the town.
The mayor assured the traders that he would see to it that they were not made to unduly suffer. “We are trying to solve encroachment and other problems permanently,” he said.
