Traffic routes diverted due to Assembly session

Traffic on many routes will remain diverted in Dehradun due to the Vidhan Sabha session which is scheduled to commence from today. The police informed that barricades will be installed at Pragati Vihar, Shastri Nagar, Bypass, Defence Colony and Vidhan Sabha junction and no traffic movement will be allowed through these points during protest rallies on the routes. All the heavy vehicles will be diverted from Kargi Chowk and Doiwala to Doodhli road.

The vehicles going towards Haridwar, Rishikesh, Tehri and Chamoli will be diverted to Nehru Colony, Fountain Chowk, and Chhe number Puliya.  Traffic from Mohkampur for Dehradun city will be diverted to Jogiwala, Nehru Colony, Araghar, Chhe Number Puliya, EC Road. Traffic going towards Mussoorie from Mohkampur will be diverted to Jogiwala, Ring road, Ladpur, Sahastradhara crossing, IT Park and Mussoorie.

In case of additional traffic pressure, the city bus arriving from Doiwala towards Dehradun will be sent back towards Doiwala through a U-turn from Kailash Hospital. The police said that traffic will be diverted from other routes too as per the requirement. The authorities appealed to all the citizens to use two-wheelers and public transport to avoid unnecessary vehicular traffic on roads today.
