Training programme for young researchers held at Doon University

A one day hands-on instrumental training was held for young researchers and scientists at Doon University on Wednesday as part of the Scientific Social Responsibility initiative. This programme was a component of the university’s comprehensive community engagement strategy, ‘Doon Sarthi’, the university officials said.
They further said that the Doon University has consistently been hosting a range of similar programmes aimed at offering practical education.
As part of this series, a training session was facilitated for undergraduate and postgraduate students in the science faculty from multiple educational institutions spread across Uttarakhand. A total of 40 students from various institutions across the State took part in the programme.
Presiding over the training camp, the dean of student welfare, H C Purohit underscored the significance of innovative, original and creative thinking in the realm of research. He said that research involves observing what is visible to all and contemplating what has not yet been considered. “By encouraging young researchers to nurture their inquisitiveness and imagination, such hands-on training programmes not only refine students’ competencies but also cultivate a sense of duty towards societal issues. The head of the faculty of social sciences Rajendra P Mamgain emphasised the crucial role of human resource development in fostering a spirit of continual learning.
During the inauguration ceremony, various eminent experts from different fields shared their experiences and knowledge, providing students with invaluable insights into cutting-edge research tools.
