Training session starts for preparation of Holi herbal colours

A seven- day training session on the preparation of herbal colours ahead of Holi commenced on Friday . The training is being provided to several women of self help groups to prepare safe and environmentally friendly Holi colours that will also provide them employment opportunities. The Janaki Devi Educational Welfare Society is providing this seven- day training under the Entrepreneurship Development Programme of the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) in the Ram Colony of the city. Kavita Chaturvedi said that the main objective of this training programme is to give the women here some skills and prepare at least 50 kilogrammes of herbal Holi colours in seven days. The women will have to attend the training every day to ensure they learn everything required to make herbal colours. Negi also said on the occasion that the Holi festival is around the corner and women can earn a livelihood by learning skills in this training with dedication and devotion.
