Transfer unused land to other departments: ACS to USTDC

The additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan has said that the unused land owned by the Uttarakhand Seeds and Terai Development Corporation Limited (USTDC) can be transferred to other departments. He said that the revenue from this transfer of the land which is of no use for the corporation will help in paying its dues. The ACS made this suggestion while chairing the 247 meeting of the board of directors of the USTDC at the State secretariat on Monday.
In the meeting the ACS directed that the new ideas should be worked to strengthen the corporation. He said that the corporation should work on other alternatives after assessing its capacity and strengths.
The ACS suggested that efforts in the fields of vegetables, fruits and flowers can be made in the mountainous areas.
He directed the officers that the dues of the Corporation to the industry should be cleared. The ACS said that the pending payments of the transportation fares to the farmers should be disposed of at the earliest. The ACS said that an improvement in capacity and efficiency will help in strengthening the corporation.
The secretary agriculture and farmer welfare Vinod Kumar Suman, district magistrate of Udham Singh Nagar and Managing Director of USTDC Udairaj Singh and others attended the meeting.
