In an important measure aimed at bringing transparency in transfers, the State government has decided that the transfers of teachers in the secondary education department will be done through counselling. An order in this regard has been given by education minister Dhan Singh Rawat following which the department has started making preparations for the counselling process.
Rawat said that the officers of the department have been asked to complete the process of counselling before July 10. He said that the teachers were demanding for a long time to hold counselling sessions in the annual transfers. The government has accepted this demand, he said. The decision to hold counselling sessions for the annual transfers will bring much needed transparency in the process of transfers. It was generally observed that the teachers coming in the ambit of compulsory transfers were transferred to the schools not mentioned in their choice form. The minister said that the counselling decision will ensure that teachers are transferred to the schools of their choice. He expressed confidence that the decision will help in improving educational activities in the schools which will benefit the students.
The education director (Secondary) Mahavir Singh Bisht said that the department has made all the preparations for transfers. He said that the dates for counselling sessions for transfers will soon be announced.
