The Transport department has decided to invite the applications from those transporters again who failed to receive monetary aid in the first phase of the monetary aid programme despite being marked as eligible beneficiaries.
The department is most likely to open its portal for the applicants by Saturday for one week. The deputy commissioner of the department, Sanat Kumar Singh informed that the monthly monetary aid of Rs 2,000 could not be transferred to a total of 2,741 beneficiaries marked in the phase mostly due to incorrect bank details provided by them and some technical issues. He said that the department is yet to receive the data of the beneficiaries with failed transactions from the respective banks in some areas like Pauri which has many pending transactions.
“The Dehradun regional transport office has sent a proposal to the department to allow the re-registration process for those who failed to apply during the second phase in October. The department is planning to invite the applications once again in which other interested transporters can apply too. We will possibly commence the application process in the next three days for only one week,” informed Singh.
