The Forest department arrested three persons with ivory pieces and seized one vehicle in the Ramnagar area on Friday. The Ramnagar divisional forest officer Kundan Kumar said that the department had been monitoring dubious persons for some time.
Acting on information from the Wildlife Crime Control Bureau, a departmental team caught three men on the Ramnagar-Ranikhet Road and recovered two pieces of ivory weighing about five kilogrammes in total from them. The trio was booked and presented in the court which sent the accused to judicial custody.
