Says petty politics going on in the Devasthanam board issue
Former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat has questioned the state administration’s decision of postponing the nursing services recruitment examination again. The examination to recruit 2600 nurses in the state health department was suspended for a third time on Monday. Talking to The Pioneer on Tuesday Rawat said that he fails to understand as to why the government is helpless in organising the important examination. He opined that the recruitment process of nurses should be expedited during the pandemic so that their services are utilised.
The former CM again defended his government’s decision of constituting the Char Dham Devasthanam board. He said that the objective behind the act is to streamline the Char Dham Yatra. He said that the numbers of pilgrims in the Yatra are expected to increase tremendously after completion of the All weather road project and rail connectivity in the area. Rawat said that the act was passed after due consultation and does not affect the interests of Teerth Purohits and stakeholders. He said that petty politics is now taking place on the issue. On the Char Dham Yatra, the former CM said that he is in favour of opening the Yatra in a phased and controlled manner. He said that the opinion of experts should be taken on his suggestion of allowing those who had taken both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine. The experts should be asked to give their opinion on whether a person with both doses of vaccine can act as a carrier of the virus or not, he said.
