Truck crashes into house, raises fear of high speed truckers in Pachhwadun again

Wih a fast-moving truck crashing into a house in the Sherpur area on the Shimla Bypass, locals have expressed concern about speeding truckers in the area. The house was badly damaged though the persons inside the room where the truck hit were not injured.
People living in the area said that this is the second incident in the last one month where a loader vehicle has hit a house. They also said that vehicles carrying mined materials run at high speed and many of them operate illegally. Because of this, the roads have become unsafe and accidents are happening almost every day. However, no effective action is being taken by the authorities.
Residents have demanded that heavy vehicles should not be allowed to move at night. They also want strict checking of overloaded and speeding vehicles. People are also asking for barricades and better monitoring in areas where accidents happen frequently.
