A truck driver was burnt alive after two trucks caught fire following a head-on collision in the Kunda area of Kashipur. The mishap occurred on national highway 74 early on Tuesday morning. According to sources, a patch of the highway near Govindpur-Bhawanipur is damaged. Due to this, one side of the road has been closed while the other side is used for traffic.
The two trucks collided early in the morning due to which both the vehicles caught fire. The police and Fire Service reached the site on being informed about the accident and somehow managed to extinguish the fire. However, one of the truck drivers was burnt alive by that time. The deceased driver has been identified as Bijnor (UP) resident Ravi Kumar (27). His body has been sent for post mortem examination. The driver of the other truck sustained burn injuries and is being treated.
