Trying to promote entrepreneurship at college level : CM Dhami

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the state government is trying to create a ‘start up ecosystem’ in Uttarakhand so that the youngsters are encouraged to take up employment generation through their ventures. The state government is trying to promote entrepreneurship at the college level through its start up policy. The CM made these comments while addressing the ‘start up- grand challenge’ programme organised by the department of industries here on Wednesday. In an important announcement, the CM said that the incentive amount would be increased from Rs 50,000 to Rs two lakh for the ‘Idea great challenge’ under the Start up Uttarakhand. Similarly the monthly allowance to the start-ups would be increased from existing Rs 10,000 to Rs 15,000 per month. The monthly allowance for the SC, ST, especially abled and women start-ups would be increased from Rs 15,000 to Rs 20,000 per month.
Dhami said that the state government is continuously encouraging the youth for innovative works and ideas. Expressing gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the CM said that from the year 2014, innovations such as Start-up India, Skill India, Make in India and other projects have prompted the entrepreneurs to take on new ventures.
CM said that Uttarakhand is the centre of religion and spirituality and this year more than 34 lakh pilgrims have so far undertaken the Char Dham Yatra this year. Making an appeal to the followers of Lord Shiva, who would be visiting the state for Kanwad Yatra, the CM said that every pilgrim should plant a tree in the state. He said that the state government is doing every possible effort to ensure that Uttarakhand becomes one of the leading states of the country in the year 2025. The CM said that a new work culture is developing in the country under the leadership of PM Modi and the state government is also improving the work culture in Uttarakhand.
The CM felicitated 10 participants in the programme and released the ‘wellness report’ prepared by ‘Invest India’ on the occasion.
The Dharampur MLA Vinod Chamoli, Industries secretary Pankaj Kumar Pandey, director general/ commissioner of Industries Ranvir Singh Chauhan, director of Industries S C Nautiyal, representatives of the industry, entrepreneurs and others were present on the occasion.
