The Uttarakhand Special Task Force (STF) along with its unit Cyber Crime Police Station conducted a joint raid at the hub of helicopter service fraud in Bihar. In the process, two people have been arrested from Warisaliganj police station area in Nawada. One of the arrested persons was already wanted by the Bihar police in a case.
The arresting process led to the seizure of Rs 1.25 lakh cash, one laptop, five mobile phones, three passbooks, three cheque books, one internet router, seven ATM cards, three fake voter ID cards, one QR code and one micro ATM card. According to the STF, the accused had uploaded their number on Google as helicopter service customer care number. Whenever any person looked for helicopter service customer care or contact numbers the number of these men would come up. The accused used to win the confidence of those who called them and cheat them. A recent helicopter service fraud victim was a resident of Dehradun.
Last month also the STF and the cyber team arrested two criminals from Nawada and Nalanda for Pawan heli service fraud and it appears that this belt is fast emerging as the hub of heli service frauds where criminals create fake websites or upload numbers on search engines. They hang the WiFi router on trees and then all criminals together make internet calls and cheat people across India in the name of tourism/heli services.
The men arrested have been identified as Vikas Kumar alias Santee Kumar and Nikku Kumar who was already wanted by the Bihar police.
