The police arrested two men on charges of running from the spot after severely hitting a man with their car. The officials said that the complainant Udit Singh filed a complaint at Rajpur police station that two unknown persons hit his friend Ashish Sharma with their car near HDFC Bank on Sahastradhara Road. The accused allegedly ran over the body of the victim and fled from the spot. When he took Sharma to the hospital, the doctor declared him dead.
The officials said that an FIR was registered under section 304 of the Indian Penal Code against both accused on the basis of the complaint received in Rajpur police station. The officials said that the police checked about 250 CCTV cameras installed on Sahastradhara Road in and around the incident site. They also activated the informer system and conducted continuous surveillance. The police were finally able to arrest both accused Nakul Yadav (30) and Neeraj Sharma (32) near IT Park on Friday. Yadav belongs to Haryana and Sharma belongs to Uttar Pradesh but both were currently living and working in the Rajpur area, the officials added.
