Solving the kidnapping and murder case of a young man in the Bahadarabad police station area, the Haridwar police arrested two accused on Saturday.
Premchand, a resident of Bahadrabad had registered a complaint on Friday morning that his son Kartik has been missing from his pathology lab since the morning of January 12. A search was started by the police on the missing complaint in this case, but the case took a new turn when an unknown person called his mother from Kartik’s mobile and demanded a ransom of 70 lakhs. After receiving the call, the police registered a case of kidnapping and started the investigation. The body of Kartik was found late on Friday night at the Royal Guest House of a BJP leader in village Dadupur of Ranipur Kotwali area. Two suspects were interrogated by the police in this case, who confessed their crime.
The Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Haridwar, Ajai Singh said that several police teams were formed to apprehend the culprits. Nearby CCTV cameras were searched by the police and two suspects were interrogated following which they accepted their involvement in crime. Both the accused Nripendra and Shahadat are residents of Bijnor and used to work with Karthik.
