The police arrested two businessmen Anil Kumar Gupta (51) and Ajay Kumar Gupta (58) for allegedly abetting the suicide of the builder Satendra Singh Sahni. He committed suicide on Friday by jumping off from the eighth floor of an under construction building in the Rajpur Road area of Dehradun. The officials informed that the police received information that a person was lying injured and unconscious near the Pacific Golf State building. He was taken to the Max Hospital by his son Ranveer Singh Sahni where he died during the treatment. The deceased’s son later reached Rajpur police station with his father’s suicide note in which he had allegedly mentioned how Anil Kumar Gupta and Ajay Kumar Gupta were harassing, threatening and blackmailing him. The accused had also threatened to put Sahni and his son-in-law in jail in a false criminal case. According to the suicide note, all these things pushed the deceased to commit suicide. The son also informed the police that his father had also registered a complaint against the duo which is also under investigation. On the basis of the above application and suicide note, the police registered an FIR against the duo and started an investigation. They arrested both accused in the evening under section 306 of the Indian Penal Code on the basis of collected evidence and statements in the case, the officials added.
