Devbhoomi Vikas Sansthan in collaboration with the Doon University, will organise a two-day lecture series during the last week of December at Doon University. This series will focus on pressing societal issues such as migration, sustainable policies for the hills, considering the unique capacity of the Himalayan region and the evaluation and assessment of ecosystems.

The said programme was discussed in a meeting chaired by Haridwar MP and former chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat recently. During the meeting, he emphasised that solutions to societal problems can only be achieved through ideological discussions and deliberations. The intellectual community conducts ongoing research in these areas, allowing them to provide effective suggestions for resolving social issues. Further, discussions will yield important options for the formulation and implementation of policies, he added.

He further added that the launch of a lecture series named ‘Gang Dhara: Vicharon Ka Āvral Pravah.’ This initiative, supported by Devbhoomi Vikas Sansthan and DU, will be held annually. The series aims to create a continuous flow of ideas, much like the waters of the Ganges, which will help in finding long-term solutions to various societal challenges. Eminent scholars and experts from diverse fields will be invited to contribute to this series, he said.

Further, vice chancellor of DU Surekha Dangwal said that the flow of ideas represents the intellectual progress of any society. This lecture series will provide universities and educational institutions with new dimensions and topics for research and study. The breadth and universality of intellectual thought foster innovation and creativity. Such intellectual efforts will also enhance the educational environment, offering teachers and students valuable opportunities for communication and collaboration, she added.
