Two deaths, 447 new Covid-19 cases in U’khand

The state health department reported deaths of two patients from Covid-19 and reported 447 new cases of the disease in Uttarakhand on Saturday. A total of 624 patients were declared cured from the disease on the day.
The state health department has so far detected 88,234 new cases of the disease from January 1 this year till date. A total of 78,717 patients have recovered from the disease so far in this year while 227 patients have died in the state since January 1 this year. The recovery percentage of the disease was at 89.21 per cent on Saturday. The positivity rate of the disease was reported at 2.15 per cent on the day.
The authorities reported the death of one patient each at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Hospital Dehradun and All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Saturday.
The health department reported 193 new patients from Dehradun, 88 from Haridwar and 34 from Pithoragarh on Saturday.
The active case count of Covid-19 in the state is now at 6,512. Dehradun with 3,144 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Pauri has 982 active cases of the disease which is followed by Champawat district with 629 active cases. Bageshwar is at the bottom of the table with 47 active cases of the disease. In the ongoing vaccination drive 20,372 people were vaccinated in 1080 sessions in the state held on Saturday.
