The police arrested two young men, Rashid (20) and Sakir (20) on charges of sexually assaulting a minor girl in Vikasnagar in Dehradun district on Sunday. The officials informed that a complaint was filed at Vikasnagar police station on Saturday about a minir bein sexually assaulted. According to the complainant, Rashid and Sakir, both residents of Vikasnagar, forcibly took the girl into their car, recorded obscene videos and coerced her into physical relations. They also allegedly threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident, as per the complainant, the officials said. The police registered a case under relevant sections including the POCSO Act. Considering the sensitivity of the situation, the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh formed a team to arrest the accused. The police team, with the help of local informants and surveillance, identified the possible locations of the accused and started raids on Saturday. Acting on a tip-off, the police started checking near a bridge in Vikasnagar on Sunday and eventually apprehended both accused. They will be presented before the court soon, the officials said.
