Two more dengue cases reported in Dehradun

Two new cases of dengue were reported in Dehradun district on Monday. This year, an early onset of dengue cases has been observed. In response, the health department has ramped up its efforts to prevent further cases.
Commenting about the current status, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma said that the total number of hospitalisations related to dengue now stands at two, both of whom are being treated at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital. This latest report brings the total number of ELISA-positive dengue cases to 34, including 20 patients from Dehradun and 14 from other districts or States. Currently, there are 11 active patients hospitalised, with 10 at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital and one at Graphic Era Hospital.
On Monday, 179 dengue samples were collected, contributing to an overall total of 1,814 samples collected to date. Dr Sharma also stated that there have been no reported deaths from dengue so far.
Additionally, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, has directed the State administration to implement comprehensive measures to control the spread of dengue, which include regular fogging and public awareness campaigns.
