Two patients airlifted from remote villages in Chamoli

At a time when the road network is still affected by landslides and other factors residents of remote areas are facing tough situations. However, the State authorities are doing their bit to help those in need. On Sunday, two seriously ill patients were airlifted by helicopter from the remote villages of Ratgaon and Dungri in the Tharali development block of Chamoli district. They were transported to the Himalayan hospital in the Jolly Grant area of Dehradun. Tharali sub divisional magistrate Pankaj Bhatt informed that the Tehsil administration also distributed ration kits to disaster affected families in Ratgaon. All possible assistance is being provided to the families affected by disaster, he said, while adding that reaching those in need without delay is the priority of the administration. Chamoli district magistrate Sandeep Tiwari has directed officials to ensure that all possible assistance is provided to residents of villages which have lost road links.
