Two teenage sisters abducted by trio, found in Rajasthan days later

Three men from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh abducted two sisters from the same family in Udham Singh Nagar and sexually exploited them in Jammu and Kashmir. The older sister is 19-years-old and the younger sister is a minor. The police arrested the three accused from Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan late on Monday. The Udham Singh Nagar senior superintendent of police Manjunath TC said that a man, Umesh, a resident of Transit Camp area registered a complaint a few days ago that his two daughters had been abducted. He suspected that the abduction was orchestrated by a man named Pankaj in Rudrapur. The police registered an FIR and started the investigation. He stated that the initial investigation involved analysing footage of over 100 CCTV cameras and tracking the suspects’ locations through surveillance and call detail records. This meticulous process helped identify the suspects and their whereabouts. The police traced the suspects to Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan, undertaking a multi-state search operation. The investigation revealed that the abducted girls were initially held in the Anantnag area of Jammu & Kashmir. The SSP said that the suspects, including Pankaj and others, had travelled across several states, including Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Rajasthan to evade the police. “The police formed teams and coordinated their efforts, with one team focusing on the Anantnag area and another heading to Rajasthan. The police found one of the accused Vicky in Anatnag who revealed that Shivam had married one of the victims and fled to Anoopgarh, Rajasthan. In Rajasthan, the police located the suspects at a brick kiln in Anoopgarh. The search, aided by local intelligence and informants, led to the discovery of the abducted girls and their safe recovery. The suspects were arrested who were identified as Pankaj and brothers Vicky Bharti and Shivam Bharti. The three accused had also sexually exploited victims in Anantnag. The police have charged them under various sections of the Bhartiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS) and the POCSO Act,” the SSP said.
