Two teenagers drown in Ganga river in Haridwar

Two teenagers Naitik (16) and Harsh (13) were swept away in the Ganga river on Tuesday during their attempt to take a bath after crossing the railing around the Sakhi Ghat in Haridwar. The police informed that both boys came from their homes on bicycles to take a bath in the river near the ghat. Both of them crossed the safety railing along the ghat and tried to bathe in the river when the water level suddenly increased and both were swept away by the strong current of the river, said the police. According to them, the teams of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) were called to conduct a rescue operation but the authorities could not find the bodies till late evening. The officials said that the SDRF will resume the search operation on Wednesday.
