The authorities recovered the body of an approximately 35-year-old unidentified man from Pashulok barrage in Rishikesh on Tuesday evening. The officials of the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) informed that the body was noticed by locals in the Ganga river near the barrage. When the SDRF team from Dhalwala reached the site to recover the body, they found it stuck on the channel gate. Team member constable Om Prakash was sent down to the barrage with equipment and after several attempts, the body was finally recovered from the river, said the officials. According to them, the body was at least 10-15 days old and the police were trying to identify it till the late evening. The body was handed over to the police who have sent it to AIIMS-Rishikesh for post mortem. The police said that they are investigating the matter.
