The Uttarakhand Cooperative Bank (UCB) has won the national award for its good performance under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana, National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) of the Rural Development ministry.
The UCB is financing the women of rural areas under its Self Help Group (SHG) credit linkage scheme under the NRLM.
Under the Uttarakhand State Rural livelihood mission and the schemes of State and Union governments the UCB was given a target of providing financial support to 5,990 SHGs in 2022-23. The bank provided financial support to 8,420 SHGs and disbursed a loan of Rs 57.17 crore to them which was more than the target given to it. In the financial year 2023-24 the UCB has so far financed 9,434 SHGs and disbursed loans of Rs 74.19 crore.
