The State cabinet minister Satpal Maharaj expressed his gratitude to the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in Uttarakhand. “The UCC enforcement is a well-thought-out move which has been implemented on the ground following hard work for three years. We are all proud as our State has become the first one in the nation to implement this progressive legislation,” he said, adding that
while guaranteeing equal rights and duties for all citizens, it would prove a milestone in the direction of India emerging as a harmonious, self-reliant and developed nation as envisioned by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
