In latest news from Doon, amidst objections raised by the opposition benches and ‘Jai Sri Ram’ chanted by the treasury benches, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami tabled the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) bill in the assembly. Thereafter, the house was adjourned till 2 pm. Before adjourning the house, the Speaker Ritu Khanduri said that the detailed discourse and debate on the bill would be held after the house resumed at 2 pm. The bill contained provisions related to marriage, divorce, inheritance and adoption among others.
