UCC to be implemented in State soon: CM

Uniform Civil Code will be implemented soon for the welfare of the people of Uttarakhand, said chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. He said that work will be undertaken the biggest municipality in Chamoli district- the Chamoli-Gopeshwar municipality according to a master plan so that parking, landslide and other issues are resolved effectively. The chief minister said this while speaking at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected municipality chairperson Pushpa Paswan on Monday.
Dhami assured that efforts will be undertaken to expedite development works in the area. He said that the State government is working consistently with the aims of simplification, solution and disposal. The State government has decided to hike old age, handicapped and various other social pensions from Rs 1,200 per month to Rs 1,500. In addition to this the government has also decided that both husband and wife will receive senior citizen pension unlike in the past when only one got it. The CM further said that officials have been directed to prepare a road map for developments for the next 10 years. He further said that provision will be made to provide employment to Agniveers in various government departments in the State. He said that development works are being executed at a swift pace in the State under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that this year more than 23 lakh people had undertaken the Char Dham Yatra in only 44 days.The chief minister also spoke about the various development works being executed and planned in the State.
After assuming charge as the Chamoli-Gopeshwar municipality chairperson, Pushpa Paswan said that she will put in all her effort to ensure the desired level of sanitation and development in the area.
