Pushpa Uniyal, the mother of Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST) joint director DP Uniyal breathed her last on Monday night in Ahmedabad. She was active in encouraging girl child education through a non-governmental organisation. She is survived by her three sons.
The eldest is serving in the armed forces and the youngest is a businessman in England. Cabinet minister Subodh Uniyal, UCOST director general Durgest Pant, MLA Savita Kapoor and others have expressed grief at her demise. DP Uniyal informed that her funeral procession will go to Haridwar from their residence in Indira Nagar colony in Dehradun on Wednesday morning.
