The Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission (UERC) has got first place in the country among 30 regulatory commissions in tariff reforms category for the year 2024. The UERC has got second place among all the regulatory commissions of the country in the renewable promotion and open access categories.
The award is given every year by the Independent Power Producer Association of India (IPPAI) to the progressive and best electricity regulatory commission of the country.
In a recent programme organised at Belgaum in Karnataka, the award was given to the member of the UERC Anurag Sharma, by the Chairman of the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) Ghanshyam Prasad.
The secretary of the UERC Niraj Sati said that the criteria of average electricity tariff relative to average electricity price for all categories of electricity supply, construction of regulatory assets in the last three years and time period for rectification of regulatory assets are used for selection of the award.
