UERC holds public hearing on proposed tariff hike

Public hearing on proposed electricity rates concluded at the Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission (UERC). The chairman of the commission DP Gairola heard the views of power consumers on the occasion. According to the officials, the UPCL, PTCUL, UJVN Limited and SLDC had presented a proposal for hiking electricity rates for the financial year 2022-23. The power companies have proposed a 10.18 per cent hike in the tariffs fof 2022-23. Regarding this, the commission has held hearings in various parts of the state to take cognisance of the views of the power consumers. After hearing the suggestions and objections of domestic power consumers, industry category consumers and PTW consumers, the commission will fix the rates. The new rates will be applicable from April 1 this year.
