UJVN Limited assistant engineer Pradeep Singh Kaida has completed a 1,000-kilometre LOC BRM (Paris-Brest-Paris qualifier) in 67 hours, earning qualification for the prestigious Paris-Brest-Paris (PBP) 2027 ultra-endurance cycling event. Kaida covered 1,002.60 kilometres during the long-distance ride, which began in Delhi and passed through Saharanpur, Haryana and Punjab before reaching the Attari-Wagah border. The ride involved a total elevation gain of 3,804 metres.
The achievement adds to Kaida’s record in long-distance cycling. He has previously earned the Super Randonneur title twice. The title is awarded to cyclists who complete the 200-kilometre, 300-kilometre, 400-kilometre and 600-kilometre Brevet series within the prescribed time limits. UJVNL managing director Ajay Kumar Singh congratulated Kaida and said that his ability to pursue fitness and sports alongside his professional responsibilities was an inspiration for employees, youth and sports enthusiasts.
Singh said that participation in sports helps develop discipline, consistency, patience and commitment towards achieving goals. Kaida credited UJVNL management, his family and fellow cyclists from the ‘Ride for Freedom’ group for their support and encouragement during the challenging ride.
