On the fifth day of State foundation silver jubilee week being held at Ramlila Maidan, the senior officers of several departments provided detailed information about the public welfare and self-employment schemes rolled out by the State government. Besides, artists and folk singers from the cultural team of the Information and Public Relations department, Uttarkashi presented performances. The literary gathering held on the stage sought to reinvigorate Uttarakhand’s literary heritage.
Among the dignitaries present were the district magistrate Prashant Arya and Gangotri MLA Suresh Chauhan. They inaugurated the district-level volleyball competition at Ramlila Maidan. They then flagged off the Divyang Rath which would provide assistive devices such as wheelchairs, crutches and hearing aids to the specially abled people living in Naugaon, Purola and Mori blocks.
