Says BJP committed to protect Uttarakhand’s religious, spiritual & cultural identity

The ruling BJP has exhorted the people of the State to watch the movie “The Kerala Story” as, according to it, it reflects the true picture of the illegal religious conversion.

Speaking on the matter on Wednesday, the State BJP president Mahendra Bhatt said that although the State government has stopped such conversions through enacting the strictest possible law, the people of the state should watch this movie to understand how such conversions are dangerous for the security of the country. “It is interesting to note that the matter this film highlights has been earlier dealt with sternly by the Dhami government through the enactment of the sternest anti-conversion law of the country. Despite this, the people of the state should watch this movie to learn how things stand in reality, how force, falsehood, seduction and enticement are used for conversions. This film has fully exposed the grim reality behind conversion. This is not a religion-specific film. It shows how the girls from the Muslim community too are being made victims of love jihad,” he said.

Bhatt further said that his party will never tolerate demographic changes in the state, committed as it is to protecting Uttarakhand’s religious, spiritual and cultural identity. “Awareness is essential among the people and only through awareness we can protect our distinctive identity,” Bhatt added.
