As a mark of respect for the cabinet minister Chandan Ram Dass who passed away on Wednesday, the Uttarakhand BJP has suspended all its programmes for next three days. Condolence meetings would be held in all the Mandal offices and the head office of the party in the State on April 28.
In his message the president of the State BJP Mahendra Bhatt said that the death of cabinet minister Chandan Ram Dass is an irreparable loss to the State and to the BJP. He said that Dass was very popular due to his simplicity, diligence and hard work. He said that Dass was a strong voice of the deprived and downtrodden sections of the society and had an unflinching commitment towards the organisation of the party.
Senior leader of the BJP and former chief minister Bhagat Singh Koshyrai also expressed grief at the death of Dass. He said that Dass would always be remembered for the role he played in the development of the State. The general secretary of the State BJP Aditya Kothari said that the party has suspended all its programmes scheduled for April 26, 27 and 28.
