U’khand CJ Sanghi retires, Manoj Tiwari to become new CJ

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court Vipin Sanghi is retiring. Justice Manoj Tiwari who hails from Pithoragarh is going to be the new Chief Justice. Notably, Justice Tiwari’s grandfather and father were associated with the judicial service, too. Born on September 19, 1965 in Pithoragarh, he studied in the Kendriya Vidyalaya Pithoragarh up to class X and attained his graduation and post-graduation degrees from the Government Post-Graduate College in Pithoragarh. He completed his LLB at Delhi University in 1990. Thereafter, he got himself registered as a member of Bar Council of Uttar Pradesh, Allahabad and started his legal practice in the Allahabad High Court. After Uttarakhand High Court came up in Nainital in 2000, he was transferred there and was made the senior advocate on May 20 2009. Earlier in 2008, he was elected the president of the Nainital High Court Bar Association. On May 9 2017, he became a permanent judge of the Nainital High Court.
